Just gigging around up in
London?
Well no, about a year and a half/two years in
London.
What have
you been doing for the three years then?
Well basically it's just been a sort of slow
process building up things. We started out doing things
really irregular, maybe only playing shows maybe once a
month, not that much, working up to how it's going at the
moment. We've been signed to East West since the end of
January. There's a twelve inch, and we've been working on
an album and hopefully that will come out later this or
earlier next year. We had a seven inch out about a year
ago. We recorded it ages ago but it took a while for it
to come out but as it was a small label it took a bit
longer. None of the big independents were ever really
interested in us. During that three years we sent out a
lot of demos to the labels that we thought might be into
it but we never had any response. And then we started
playing London more and the guy from East West came and
saw us and that was it really. It was just a case of it
was the first interest that had been shown in us and the
deal was set up which meant we could leave our jobs and
do the band as a full time thing which of course is what
we wanted to do. The label as such we weren't really
bothered about. It was just there. We told them that if
the deal was right then we could put out whatever records
we want to and do artwork ourselves and stuff like that
which we can. So if the deal was right the label wasn't
really an option.
Do you
play out a lot?
Yeah. I mean, that's the thing. The club that
does do gigs is starting to get a bit of a name for
itself, but that's more along the metal lines. Other than
that we have to go into London.
Do you
think that now you're on a big label you'll have more
chance of crossing over?
I think we've got a chance of crossing over but
whether or not it's into a more rock audience. We've been
getting the rock press taking notes, and the NME and
stuff. Like Kerrang, they're really into the band, they
write about us all the time.
